I love using photography to document my travels and for this particular journey I would like the photos to speak for themselves!
The Harz region of Germany mesmerised me with its medieval beauty combined with the mystical, mushroom filled forests. This experience was an opportunity to connect with sisters and explore a magical piece of nature plus the historical town of Wernigerode.
“Awake my dear.
Be kind to your sleeping heart.
Take it out into the vast fields of light and let it breathe.”
– medieval quote (anonymous)
Absolutely stunning photographs. I was actually drawn to your blog because of your yoga. I used to be so well conditioned. Then I ended up having hip trouble and eventually a hip replacement. I tried getting back into yoga but the instructor that I had used prior was much too difficult for me to reintroduce myself to the practice. I want to begin again but I have chronic pain and I can’t get motivated to do it on my own. Any words of encouragement?

Hi there, thank you for taking the time to write a lovely compliment!
Yoga is a very personal journey and I find that feeling comfortable with your teacher and their teaching style is key! I have had teachers over the past that have inspired me so much to deepen my own practice and then others where I went to one class and could not go back again… It is a tricky time at the moment for attending any studio classes but if you would like to reintroduce gentle yoga into your day to day life when please check out http://www.mandalatreeyoga.com
I teach flow classes there and my dear friend and teacher of many years, Claire, teaches gentle, beginner classes and chair yoga classes. Another teacher also offers Yin yoga classes. Check out the website if you are interested… memberships are not expensive at all and will provide you with the class library which you can access anytime. There is also a facebook group where you would have the opportunity to communicate with us and even make suggestions as to what kind of a class you would be interested in, themes, supporting certain ailments, etc.
I am wishing you well and hope that you find your way back to your own yoga journey!
